Oxford Dictionary of Popes

This papal Who's Who presents biographical accounts in chronological order of all the officially recognized popes from St Peter to John Paul II, whose entry has now been expanded and brought up to date. Providing a continuous history of the papacy, it also includes their irregularly elected rivals, the so-called antipopes, and discusses the tradition that there had been a female pope.

The Online Critical Pseudepigrapha provides free, online access to the texts of the Pseudepigrapha in their original (or extant) languages and with critical apparatus. The fonts needed to view the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic texts, as well as browser requirements, are listed on the site.

Lettres Pontificales = Papal Letters Online

Searchable registers of papal letters from the 13th- and 14th-century popes, based on Registres et lettres des Papes du XIIIe siècle (32 vols.; Rome, 1883- ) and Registres et lettres des Papes du XIVe siècle (48 vols.; Rome, 1899- ). These letters provide information on many aspects of medieval society, such as church institutions, politics, government and finance, and religious, intellectual, and artistic life.
