The online edition of the Oxford Classical Dictionary is based on the one-volume 4th edition (2012). Includes increased representation in interdisciplinary fields such as anthropology, archaeology, literary theory, reception, gender studies, and ancient sexuality. The OCD currently contains over 6,700 contributions written by an international team of scholars. Many entries are followed by useful bibliographical references for further reading, and abundant cross-references (appearing as hyperlinks in the electronic version) directing readers to other headwords in the dictionary.
