Building Access

The library's main entrance is accessible by elevator from the lower vestibule at the courtyard entrance to the library building. Once inside the library, all floors are accessible by elevator. Library users with disabilities may also gain access through the 'Shipping and Receiving' door on the south side of the building, from the parking lot off Francis Avenue, by calling for entrance from the call box at this door. Please call the circulation desk (617.495.5788) to let staff know approximately when you will arrive. The library is also accessible through Andover Hall using the entrance across from Rockefeller Hall. Take the elevator up to the first floor of Andover and travel across to the link-building access across from the Sperry Room.

Stack Access

Patrons who are unable to retrieve materials from shelves in the stack areas of the library may seek assistance from staff at the circulation desk. Staff will retrieve materials. Before asking for books, the patron should identify the call numbers of the items desired. Staff can verify for you whether any of these items are checked out.

Harvard faculty, staff, and students who need to apply for handicapped parking considerations should do so through the University disability coordinator, a member of the staff of the Office of the Assistant to the President.

All restrooms in the library are accessible to persons with disabilities.
