Laity

The lives of laypeople are less obvious in the collections, yet their names are sometimes mentioned in congregational histories and church records, especially if they were leaders. In our collections, you’ll find lay organizations that played active roles in local congregations, including women's, men's, and young people's organizations, the Sunday School, and literary societies.
