The lives of laypeople are less obvious in the collections, yet their names are sometimes mentioned in congregational histories and church records, especially if they were leaders. Lay organizations that played active roles in local congregations were women's, men's, and young people's organizations, the Sunday School, and literary societies.
While the library does not collect material simply based on an individual's denominational affiliation, religious or theological works by them may be found in the collection.
